Job Description
The role:
The Warehouse Keeper for Paddy/Rice Stocks is responsible for overseeing the efficient storage, inventory management, and dispatching of stocks from his location to the final destination. This role plays a crucial part in maintaining product quality, ensuring inventory accuracy, and optimizing warehouse operations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Inventory Management:
– Receive, inspect, weigh and record incoming paddy/rice from various points.
– Maintain accurate records of paddy stock levels, including batch numbers, receipt dates, and quantities.
– Conduct regular inventory checks and reconciliations to minimize discrepancies.
2. Storage and Handling:
– Organize and allocate storage space for paddy, considering factors like impurities and moisture control.
– Ensure proper handling and stacking of paddy/ rice bags to prevent damage and maintain quality.
– Implement FIFO (First-In-First-Out) principles when dispatching paddy.
3. Quality Control:
– Monitor paddy quality, identifying any signs of contamination.
– Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the warehouse to preserve paddy quality.
– Report any quality issues to the relevant authorities or suppliers as needed.
4. Safety and Compliance:
– Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
– Comply with relevant regulations and standards for storage and handling.
– Train and supervise warehouse staff in safety procedures.
5. Order Fulfillment:
– Coordinate with logistics and transportation teams to ensure on-time dispatch.
– Keep accurate records of outbound shipments.
6. Equipment Maintenance:
– Maintain and operate warehouse equipment, such as Scales, Moistures and pallet safely and efficiently.
– Report any equipment malfunctions and coordinate repairs or maintenance.
7. Documentation and Reporting:
– Generate reports on inventory levels, paddy movement, and any incidents or discrepancies.
– Maintain organized documentation related to paddy stocks, including receipts, and quality reports.
Qualifications:
– First degree in procurement or equivalent; additional education or certifications in warehousing is a plus.
– Proven experience as a warehouse keeper or similar role, with a focus on food storage preferred.
– Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.
– Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
– Excellent organizational and time management skills.
– Effective communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
