Our team is looking for a “Copywriter” to join our organization, based in either South Africa, Nigeria or Ghana. This job is perfect for a candidate that is a true wordsmith and loves creating Africa-focused content that tells a different story. Your experience
You possess a minimum of 5 years of professional experience in copywriting or related fields
You demonstrate a strong portfolio showcasing exceptional storytelling and Africa-focused content creation
You have an innate ability to craft compelling scripts for visual content and compose engaging articles and case studies
You exhibit proficiency in crafting persuasive op-eds for PR purposes, aligning with the company’s messaging and objectives
You have experience in preparing speaker notes for partners and executives, ensuring clarity and effectiveness
Your attention to detail is exemplary, with a track record in proofreading and enhancing written content to meet high-quality standards
You thrive in shaping a new narrative and contributing to the African private sector’s development through impactful storytelling
You’re passionate about Africa-focused content creation and eager to redefine its narrative across various platforms

Your responsibilities
Development of Scripts for Visual Content:
Craft compelling and engaging scripts for visual content, ensuring alignment with brand messaging and storytelling goals – this includes scripting for e-learning content
Collaborate with multimedia experts to translate ideas into impactful visual narratives that resonate with diverse audiences
Composition of Articles and Case Studies:
Create high-quality articles and case studies that highlight success stories, innovations, and market insights across African businesses we collaborate with
Develop content that educates and informs, contributing to AFG’s objective of fostering sustainable growth in African economies
Writing of Op-Eds for PR Purposes:
Prepare persuasive op-eds focusing on key industry trends, AFG initiatives, and thought leadership topics for PR distribution
Tailor messaging to resonate with various stakeholders and contribute to shaping the public narrative about Africa’s private sector
Preparation of Speaker Notes for Partners and Executives:
Craft concise, impactful, and persuasive speaker notes for presentations delivered by partners and executives
Ensure alignment with strategic objectives, maintaining a consistent and compelling tone across all communication
Proofreading of Written Content:
Conduct thorough proofreading and editing of written content, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and adherence to established guidelines
Collaborate with content stakeholders to refine and enhance the quality of written materials
