This role will be responsible for the establishment and maintenance of transparent objective systems that attract and retain talent, motivate staff to perform effectively, build trust, facilitate the capacity building and development of employees, and ensure that the compensation system is effectively implemented.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
• Participate in the implementation of the HR strategy to ensure alignment with Matrix Gas, Ghana strategy and recommend adjustments to HR policies, procedures, and processes based on the requirements of local labor laws ensuring that legislative requirements are fulfilled.
• Provide strategic advice, support, and participate in the preparation, development of a yearly HR plan, and oversee its implementation.
• Develop and implement recruitment strategies for the efficient and timely hiring and placement of employees; guide hiring managers on job reviews and development of job descriptions.
• Prepare and circulate vacancy announcements, develop assessment tools, evaluate applications, arrange and participate in interviews, and make recommendations to the Management.
• Review and provide advice on interpretation of HR policies, regulations, and rules; inform staff of their rights, responsibilities, line of reporting, code of conduct, sexual exploitation and harassment policies, and difficulties associated with work and entitlements.
• Periodically review the behaviors of the staff and identify the gaps and plan for the training of the staff in coordination with their respective line managers.
• Plan and prepare the appraisal system and supervise the system thoroughly. Advise the management on the gaps to improvise the HRS to ensure to retain talented staff with entity.
• Administer and provide advice to staff and management on salary and related benefits, health insurance, life insurance, and other entitlements.
• Monitor and manage employee relations issues, maintain confidential records related to grievances and complaints and coordinate their resolution; conduct investigations and liaise with legal consultants to resolve cases when needed.
• Ensure HR programs and plans are aligned with the business priorities and monitor effectiveness through the tracking of key measures.
• Conduct a monthly reconciliation of staff strength within the business and prepare payroll reports for salary payments.
• Lead, influence, and support the integration of robust performance management systems, providing advice and support to manage and retain a high-caliber team of core and temporary personnel who satisfy the needs of the business and its planned growth.
• Keep abreast of the latest developments in employment-related laws in the country group policies; ensure employees comply with all Government statutory regulations and recommend changes to benefits and entitlements based on local labor laws.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office tools
REQUIRED QUALIFICATION
• Bachelor’s degree in any social science discipline preferably second-class upper grade.
• Masters degree will be an added advantage.
• HRCI, SPHRI, or PHRI qualifications required.
• Knowledge of the Labor laws of Ghana.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in the Oil and Gas industry, specifically in the Downstream sector will be an added advantage.
