Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Finance Officer to join our team, with a primary focus on managing our collections process and handling the company’s tax obligations. The ideal candidate will leverage our accounting ERP to optimize efficiency, support our financial strategy, and ensure compliance with all tax regulations.

Responsibilities

Oversee collections management (accounts receivable) to ensure timely billing and payments by customers, maintaining accurate records of transactions.
Implement effective collections strategies to reduce outstanding receivables and improve cash flow.
Liaise with clients to address any billing inquiries and negotiate payment arrangements if necessary.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax regulations and compliance requirements specific to Ghana.
Prepare and file timely tax returns, including VAT, PAYE, and corporate taxes, ensuring accuracy and completeness of all submissions.
Work with the finance manager to develop tax strategies that align with company objectives.
Reconcile tax accounts and resolve discrepancies in collaboration with the accounting officer.
Assist in preparing financial statements and reports, highlighting collections and tax liabilities.
Collaborate with external auditors and tax consultants as required.
Utilize the accounting ERP system to streamline collections and tax-related processes.
Participate in financial audits and implement audit recommendations related to collections and taxation.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of the financial policies and procedures, especially in areas concerning credit control and tax compliance.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
At least 3 years post national service experience in finance, with a strong focus on collections and tax matters. Experience working in an IT environment is a plus.
Proficiency in using ERP systems for financial management. Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 BC will be an advantage.
Excellent understanding of Ghanaian tax laws and regulations.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
Proactive and independent with the ability to work effectively in a lean team.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
High level of integrity and reliability.
