Job Summary:
The EHS Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the factory’s Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) team and establishing robust safety management systems to ensure a safe and compliant working environment. This role focuses on managing the EHS team and developing, implementing, and maintaining policies and procedures to minimize risks and promote employee well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
EHS Team Management:
Lead, train, and supervise the EHS team to ensure effective execution of safety programs and initiatives.
Coordinate team schedules to provide comprehensive EHS support across factory operations.
Conduct performance evaluations and provide mentorship to enhance team skills and performance.
Promote a culture of safety awareness, accountability, and continuous improvement within the EHS team.
EHS Policy and Procedure Development:
Develop, implement, and update comprehensive EHS policies and procedures to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA).
Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to identify workplace hazards and implement corrective measures.
Establish protocols for incident investigation, emergency response, and hazardous material handling.
Ensure all EHS policies and procedures are clearly communicated to employees and enforced consistently.
Compliance and Monitoring:
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of EHS programs, making adjustments to address emerging risks or regulatory changes.
Maintain accurate records of safety incidents, training, and compliance activities, and prepare reports for management and regulatory agencies.
Collaborate with factory leadership to integrate EHS objectives into operational processes.
Ensure proper use and maintenance of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety systems.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in EHS management in a manufacturing or industrial setting, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
In-depth knowledge of EHS regulations, standards, and best practices (e.g., OSHA, EPA).
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to train and engage employees at all levels on safety practices.
Certification in EHS (e.g., CSP, CIH) is preferred
