Job Description
The Security Supervisor is responsible for managing and supervising security staff, ensuring the safety and security of the premises, assets, and personnel.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership:
Supervise and lead a team of security officers or guards.
Schedule shifts and assign duties to security personnel.
Provide training and orientation to new security staff.
Security Operations:
Ensure that security protocols and procedures are followed.
Monitor security systems, such as CCTV cameras and alarms.
Conduct regular security patrols to identify and address security issues.
Emergency Response:
Coordinate and respond to security incidents or emergencies.
Implement and manage evacuation plans when necessary.
Contact law enforcement or emergency services when needed.
Security Reports:
Maintain accurate records and write incident reports.
Keep track of security-related documentation and ensure they are up-to-date.
Policy Enforcement:
Enforce security policies and procedures consistently.
Address breaches of security protocols and take appropriate action.
Risk Assessment:
Identify potential security risks and vulnerabilities.
Develop strategies to mitigate security threats.
Client or Stakeholder Communication:
Communicate with clients, property owners, or relevant stakeholders about security matters.
Address client requests and concerns in a professional manner.
Equipment and Resource Management:
Ensure the proper functioning of security equipment and tools.
Manage and maintain security resources, such as uniforms, access control systems, and vehicles.
Training and Development:
Organize training programs to improve the skills and knowledge of security staff.
Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
Qualifications:
Minimum of an HND or a Bachelor’s Degree
Relevant experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field.
Strong leadership and communication skills.
Knowledge of security systems and procedures.
Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in high-pressure situations.
Physical fitness and the ability to perform security patrols and respond to emergencies.
Familiarity with local and state regulations related to security.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Proficiency in using security-related technology, such as CCTV systems and access control software.
Relevant security certifications or licenses, if required by local regulations or the employer.
