Job Description
Ubiquity Global Services Ghana Ltd. is seeking an Accounting/Finance Manager to develop and manage all accounting, finance, tax, and treasury activities for its Ghana subsidiary. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles, corporate policies, external audits, and tax filing responsibilities. The Accounting Manager will oversee cash and treasury functions, accounts payable, payroll, income tax, VAT filing responsibilities, monthly closing of accounts, and the preparation of financial statements for local managers and the Parent Company.
The Accounting Manager will report to and work closely with the VP Finance and other Executive Team members in developing and implementing accounting policies, procedures, and controls. The successful candidate will also collaborate with other Accounting team members located in various regions to improve efficiencies and processes in reporting. The ideal candidate will possess leadership capabilities, a solid operational and technical accounting background, and the ability to work proactively to achieve results. This person is a self-starter, flexible, and has a high level of integrity. They will thrive in a fast-paced, team- oriented, and collaborative environment, demonstrating a strong focus on action and goal achievement.
Responsibilities:
Manage the monthly financial close process for the Ghanaian subsidiary, ensuring that all costs incurred are properly recorded, all vendor invoices are properly approved and recorded, and all account balance reconciliations and subsidiary schedules are prepared accurately and on time.
Prepare monthly financial statements, comparing actuals to budget with an analytical review of variances.
Supervise the implementation of the NetSuite accounting system for the entity; work with third parties to ensure the proper setup of functionality and controls.
Participate in the ongoing development and establishment of accounting policies, procedures, and operational strategies, including the review and implementation of process and system changes.
Continuously improve system efficiencies, business practices, and internal controls to optimize financial reporting and compliance.
Collaborate with external auditors to ensure successful audit results and compliance with Ghanaian accounting standards and statutory requirements.
Interact with all levels of the organization and budget owners to ensure timely, efficient, and accurate month-end closing and internal management reporting, as well as annual statutory reporting.
Ensure the accuracy of the general ledger, financial statements, and the proper classification and booking of all transactions, with responsibility for the hierarchy and scalability of the chart of accounts.
Stay current with changes in International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and international accounting standards, implementing any necessary changes in accounting processes.
Make recommendations for changes as needed, ensuring company policies and procedures are followed, while establishing appropriate techniques to discover and prevent fraud.
Ensure the timely preparation and filing of Value Added Tax (VAT), income tax, payroll taxes, Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) contributions, and all other local tax returns, remaining fully compliant with Ghanaian tax regulations and local requirements, using either in-house resources or third-party preparers.

Position Requirements:
ACCA/CIMA/CPA required.
Accounting degree from an accredited accounting program.
Minimum 4 years’ experience, including conducting audits of and/or preparing financial statements for mid-level business.
Netsuite experience highly desirable.
Should be able to communicate in English.
Primarily on-site working arrangement.
