Human Resources Executive : Ghana

An opportunity is available for a leader with a successful track record in Human Resources at our offices based in Ghana

Reporting to the Managing Director the incumbent will manage and develop a comprehensive human resources strategy for the organization and direct external relationships with employer organizations, trade unions and regulatory bodies

Key Performance Areas :

Design, develop and manage HR Strategy and Policy for the organisation

Determine and develop Human Resources strategy for the company ensuring that the strategy is aligned to the Organisation’s strategic intent
Define relevant Human Resources Policies and ensure that these policies are aligned to Company and Human Resources strategy
Analyze and identify key business challenges and identify Human Resources interventions where appropriate
Oversee and manage the remuneration and benefit policy for the Organisation

Manage the development of human capital capability and resources within the organisation

Ensure that the development and implementation of learning and development programmes provide the organization with relevant skills in order to achieve its objectives, notably management training and capability
Oversight of recruitment process to ensure compliance to policy and procedure, reviewing to ensure effectiveness and maintenance of service levels
Direct intervention and assistance with country recruitment needs and keeping attrition rate down
Oversight of critical vacancies within the organisation and filling those roles in a timely manner
Manage and direct the activities of the HR department to ensure the achievement of strategic goals and targets
Optimize the allocation of business resources to address Human Resource Management requirements

Effective management of employee relations and industrial relations within the organisation

Maintain an appropriate Industrial Relations environment and sound working relationships with Unions and other role players
Display a comprehensive understanding of Ghana Labour Law as well as the various dynamics affecting the Ghana Security Sector in order to provide advice on strategic approaches to all matters affecting the Company from a labour and employee perspective
To support the drive to achieve high level employee engagement

Development and maintenance of sound relationships both within the organisation and with external parties

Liaise with and participate in external stakeholder forums ensuring company matters are addressed
Maintain and develop relationships with Unions and other labour role players
Provide advice on all Human Resources issues to the Senior Management and Executive Teams

Oversight and management of organisation transformation and compliance

Formulate Organisation Development and Change Management initiatives and interventions in order to meet the organisations changing needs and business requirements
To design a change management methodology and process
To plan and support change initiatives within the company on a project basis

Management and development of direct reports

All team members have clearly defined job profiles aligned to the profile of the manager
Ensure performance contracts are in place and regular goal reviews completed to assess achievement of results
Apply performance management or employee relations management principles and processes should this be required
Provide support, coaching (train) and mentoring continuously to ensure that objectives are met
Ensure completed development plans for each employee
Allocation resources appropriately to ensure operational demands are met
Ensure that events/activities taking place in team are effectively communicated within the team and to other teams requiring the information
Ensure adequate succession planning to meet ongoing and anticipated business requirements

Health and Safety

Participate in the design/ development/ review/ implementation and monitoring of H&S plans for each year
Participate in safety forums created by company – safety meetings, talks, education and refresher programmes
Oversee all H&S reporting requirements with the H&S Officer
Comply with safety policies and procedures at workplace
Distribute safety information as and when required

Qualifications and Experience :

B.Comm/B.A Honours qualification
5 – 10 Years’ experience ( last 3 years at a Snr Management Level)
Generalist experience of HR practice in a labour intensive service industry
Bulk recruitment experience
