About the role:

As an Associate Director in the Infrastructure & Capital Projects (ICP) team, you’ll work with governments and private sector clients throughout the full lifecycle of infrastructure and capital projects, from initiation through to completion, to plan, finance, manage, and deliver projects in a cost effective and efficient fashion. You will work across policy and strategy, planning, business case and program/project management engagements for a diverse range of infrastructure projects across various sectors including transport, energy, telecommunications and regional economic development in Africa.

You will work with a team of problem solvers, to deliver innovative deal solutions to our clients, providing advice and support to originate, create, execute, and realise value.

Key Responsibilities

Lead business development initiatives, including identification of new opportunities, development and implementation of engagement pursuit strategies, preparation of proposals and managing tender processes;
Represent the company in external meetings, conferences, and industry events.
Developing and maintaining internal and external networks with various stakeholders such as procurers, regulators and client senior management.
Maintaining strong relationships with clients, project stakeholders, project partners and broader industry;
Coordinate with various stakeholders, including government agencies, contractors, and financial institutions, to ensure successful project delivery.
Contribute to the development of the ICP practice and the Bridgewater brand, providing support in marketing efforts in social media, thought leadership and sponsored conferences.
Supervise and contribute to drafting reports and information documents such as Information Memorandums, Financial Models, project risk matrixes, term sheets, feasibility and concept reports, options analysis, payment structures and senior management presentations.
Coordinate the preparation of proposals for several projects
Oversee the development and review of complex financial models
Participate in the development of the strategic planning, granting and financial structuring of infrastructure and capital projects.
Support clients with procurement strategies, project structuring, financing, and negotiations.
Advise clients on best practices in the management of infrastructure and capital projects, and support them in the implementation of these recommendations
Understand and assess client needs to provide them with information essential to making informed decisions
Develop an in-depth understanding of various sectors such as transportation, health or energy
Serve as a point of contact and liaise between Bridgewater and client’s teams, delivering high quality client service
Managing internal deal management requirements such as responsibility for all risk and compliance checks on clients and securing all internal approvals.
Contributing to team planning, development and maintenance of a high-performance culture, including coaching and mentoring to support learning and development initiatives;
Any other business development, project delivery and team management activities as required to support the efficient management of the team.

Education:

At least a Master’s in Economics, Development Studies, Business, or a related field.
Relevant professional qualifications such as ACCA, CFA, ICA is a plus

Experience:

Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in economic research, policy analysis, and program management.
Proven track of successfully managing and executing large-scale infrastructure and capital projects from inception to completion.
Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Experience in managing or preparing program/project controls including budget, schedule, risk/issue, integration, quality, stakeholder management;
Strong collaboration skills having worked across multi-disciplinary teams involved in the delivery of infrastructure planning studies, technical reports and/or business cases;

Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
Proven technical and analytical capabilities including proven financial analysis and financial modelling skills (applied to infrastructure and/or large projects)
Deep understanding of financial markets, economic indicators, and industry dynamics.
Strong client-relationship management skills, with experience engaging with high level clients and stakeholders in complex environments.
Strong communication, presentation and writing skills, including the ability to understand and effectively summarize complex documents
Strong organizational and project management skills.
